Beautiful Hardangerfjord & Cider

This experience combines a scenic drive to appreciate some of the beauty of the Hardangerfjord region, with a visit to the Hardanger Juice & Cider Factory.

Your journey begins with a drive along the southern shores of the Hardangerfjord. Cross over to the north shore via the Hardanger Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in the world at (1,380m / 4,528ft), and continue to the village of Ulvik, where tourism has been a permanent feature of daily life for more than 150-years. The area is particularly famous for its pretty orchards – adorned with blossom in spring and laden with fruit in the late summer and autumn.

Monks in the region began growing fruit here as early as 1300. The unique climate along the Hardangerfjord provides optimal conditions for producing apples of very high quality. A visit to the Hardanger Juice & Cider Factory will include a behind the scenes tour, during which you will see the apple press, distilling equipment and bottling machine whilst learning about the products they create and the processes they follow. Your visit concludes with the opportunity to sample the apple juice, cider and apple brandy produced here whilst enjoying beautiful views of the fjord. You may wish to purchase a bottle of your favourite to take home as a souvenir.

Re-joining your coach, relax and enjoy the passing scenery as you drive back to Eidfjord.
