The Atlantic Ocean Road @ Ease

This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some of the highlights of the Atlantic Ocean Road, known as one of the world’s most beautiful drives, and the surrounding area from the comfort of a coach.

The charming town of Molde, known as the ‘Town of Roses’, lies sheltered from northerly winds in the district of Romsdal, and features fantastic views and mountain peaks. Your journey will take you past the village of Eide and along the Kornstadfjord to the Atlantic Ocean Road, which has been built across numerous islands linked by eight breathtaking bridges. Pause to capture photos of this unique stretch of road, designated a Cultural Heritage Site, and voted Norway’s ‘Engineering Feat of the Century’ in 2005.

Your journey continues along Hustadvika, an ill-reputed stretch of sea dotted with underwater skerries and islets, before you reach Bud - a charming fishing hamlet facing the open ocean. Here, at the site of some WWII fortifications, you will have a short stop to take photos. You can look across to Bjørnsund Island, which in its former days was a busy, thriving fishing community. Today, the buildings are used as summerhouses only. After leaving Bud, you follow the Frænfjord via Elnes and cross back over to Molde.
