City Sightseeing & Cable Car
Narvik

by coach, cable car & on foot
The town of Narvik is situated in a lovely setting at the tip of the peninsula between the Rombaken fjord and Beisfjord, it is surrounded by impressive peaks like the 1575m(5167ft) high ‘Kongsbakktind’ also known as "the sleeping queen".
Today Narvik is a modern town with approx. 21.000 inhabitants. The town owes its existence to the export of iron ore being mined in Kiruna in Sweden and transported to the ice-free port of Narvik for export overseas. Narvik is a well-known name from World War II. It was the scene of fierce battles between German forces and the Allies, who landed troops by sea in support of the Norwegians.
Your experience will take you from the port up through the centre of the town. The highlight of this experience is your ascent to Narvik Mountain by cable car. The Cable Car takes you up to the mountain restaurant situated at 656m (2152ft) above sea level. The panoramic views here are spectacular.
After having enjoyed the views, you return to Narvik town centre and drive back to your awaiting ship.
