Grand Cayman by Land & Sea

George Town

Grand Cayman by Land & Sea
  • Waiver to be signed
  • Shopping time included

by bus, semi-submarine & on foot

This land and sea experience takes in all that Grand Cayman has to offer.

You begin with a short transfer by bus to the semi-sub’s docking location. Here you will climb on board and descend the steps into the vessel’s hull and take your seat. The semi-submarine will then set sail for an approximately 30–40-minute journey as your captain navigates the vessel over shipwrecks and reefs just off the coast.

As you peer through the large windows, a narrator will provide commentary about the history of the sunken ships and of the marine life that live around Grand Cayman’s shores. As the semi-sub reaches the reef, one of the crew members will take to the water and make their way around the vessel, feeding the fish to attract them closer to the windows.

Rejoining your bus, you continue with the land portion of the experience with a drive along Seven Mile Beach, a long crescent of coral-sand on Grand Cayman’s west coast. Alight the buses for a short stop to feel the sand between your toes and take your photos of this famous beach.

Your journey continues to West Bay Peninsula where you will pass well preserved local old houses on the way to your next stop – ‘Hell’. This place is named as such owing to the patch of black rock formations that, during sunset, reflects light from any pools of water that have collected during rainfall and resembles a fire. There are small souvenir shops in the area where you might choose to purchase a souvenir of your visit.

Rejoining your bus, you will start to make the return to George Town and make a final stop at a local rum cake shop. Here, you can sample and purchase the famous Cayman Island’s rum cakes which come in a variety of flavours. The gift shop has other rum based treats you may also wish to purchase as reminders of your visit.

Following this, you will be transferred back to the tender landing stage.
