Known for his patience, humour, and engaging teaching style, he creates a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where confidence grows quickly. Whether you’re picking up a ukulele for the first time or brushing up your chords, you’ll leave the cruise with the skills, confidence, and maybe even the stage experience to join your local ukulele group back home.

I wanted to be a nurse from the age of 3 (Florence Nightingale).I also wanted to be a Nun ( Sound of music). I was the ‘religious nutcase’ of my family from the age of 5 attending my local church on my own, and practicing my preaching skills on family.So after 35 years as a midwife, and having trained as an Anglican Reader, I left the NHS and joined the Prison Service at HMP Liverpool then HMP.YOI Hindley and served 25 years as a Chaplain before retiring. I’ve worked closely with juveniles, men and women and have many stories to tell. I’m joined by my husband Ian, a retired police dog handler, who for 40 years has been my organist in churches and prison.

Bestselling author, Michele Monro’s book ‘The Singer’s Singer: The Life and Music of Matt Monro’ is a touching biography of the man and much-loved performer who sang Born Free, From Russia With Love, Walk Away and Portrait of My Love. Having spent three years researching the subject thoroughly, this in-depth portrait on her father has already been re-printed five times since its release and has been a hit across Europe, Australia, S.E Asia and the United States. Michele has been leading a high profile publicity campaign, including appearances on BBC Breakfast television, BBC London News, several appearances on QVC, Friday Night is Music Night and The One Show together with hundreds of worldwide radio interviews, which have seen the book enter both Amazon and Waterstone’s bestseller’s lists. The author, who is a member of The Society of Authors, was presented with an Irwin Award (Industry Recognition for Writers in the News) for Best International Campaign from the book publicists of Southern California and Titan Publishing presented the author with another award for Outstanding Sales. Michele has spearheaded a national tour of book signings and presentations including The Frank Sinatra Society, Pinner Big Band Society, The West Sussex Big Band Society, The Middlesbrough Book Festival and The World’s Words Festival in Lincoln. She continues to be a popular guest on air whilst also producing one hour specials for Hospital Radio. Michele runs the official Matt Monro Estate, designs, produces and writes the notes on all her father’s CD releases and is responsible for bringing four wonderful DVDs of the singer to the marketplace. Two other channels Talking Pictures and Netflix have licensed the Australian concert and the documentary for repeat showings. Dr. Chris Martin is a 69 - year-old medicolegal consultant and medical lawyer. His initial training was in science and medicine before he transferred to law at the age of 35 having seen issues in medicine which created legal implications. He completed his LLB degree in 1997 before opening his own medicolegal practice involving medicolegal, personal injury, clinical negligence litigation and Inquest work which he successfully ran for 12 years. His academic qualifications include a B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry, B.S. (Hons) Medicine, LL. B, LL.M, LL.D, Certificate in Medicine and Law, CIArb (Mediator), as well as being a Civil Mediation Council Registered Mediator specialising in hospital disputes and claims resulting from clinical negligence as well as Coroner and Inquests matters. His Master's dissertation was on DNA and the Law and his Doctoral dissertation was on HIV / AIDS Law and Policy. He is now a medicolegal consultant and lawyer to the medical and legal professions within the public and private sectors involving support, advice, training and guidance as well as liaising with law firms and compiling preliminary screening reports for possible litigation. Chris lived and worked in South Africa for 25 years, 18 years in Durban and 7 years in Cape Town. He is also: Member of Counsel for the Medicolegal Society of Great Britain (2017 - 2022). Tutor in Medical Law and Ethics at Manchester University Law School (2011 - 2012). Volunteer on Helpline at Action against Medical Accidents in Croydon (2015 - 2022). He was voted Medico Legal Advisory Expert for the UK by Corporate International Magazine in 2021 and 2022.

Glenn Patrick

Professor Glenn Patrick CPhys, FInstP, FRAS, FRGS is a particle physicist who has spent most of his career working on the massive particle accelerators at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva. Until recently, he was studying the subtle differences between matter and anti-matter deep underground at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) – the biggest machine on the planet! He is now an Honorary Scientist at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory near to Oxford and is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, the Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Geographical Society. Glenn is also well known as an engaging science communicator and has won grants for his outreach work. He gives inspirational public talks to schools, science cafes, festivals and cruise lines where he specialises in exploring physics, cosmology, astronomy and the earth sciences in everyday language. As a Visiting Professor at the University of Portsmouth and also a Tutor with the Open University, he has a unique perspective which enables him to bring the beauty of the natural world and the mysteries of the physical universe closer to us.

Barbara is an experienced craft tutor on cruise lines with a passion for running arts and craft days and retreats in the UK. With 30 years of teaching, training teachers in D & T skills shows that she is able to manage a classroom, abilities levels and ages. With a passion to share and instil confidence in learners allowing them to discover their creative side and getting the best results whilst having a fun sociable experience, her aim is to help to enrich the cruising experience of the guests on-board. A great advocate for recycling materials with a list of fun activities, avoiding the use of plastics, using magazines, leaflets, glass bottles, textiles etc. She has a comprehensive list of activities. An approachable and personable lady. Very creative with a love of sharing skill on cruises, an asset to any team.

Jayne Hood

Jayne offers crafting classes with a more modern approach using recycled and everyday items to produce attractive results as well as more traditional crafts. Over the years, Jayne has familiarised herself with all kinds of handicrafts from Faberge eggs, papercraft, and needlecraft. She has attended and given craft courses, culminating in attaining a formal teaching qualification for working designs. Jayne is a trustee for a local Civic Society, an enthusiastic wardrobe mistress for the pantomime group and a member of several U3A groups. She has refurbished several homes using her interior design and soft furnishing skills.

A “Destination” Art Specialist, Mike has covered a wide range of subjects and themes based on cruise destinations - reflecting his interest and experience from having painted in over 100 countries! As Head of Art Mike taught art to A level, was LEA Curriculum Co-ordinator for art before developing his own Educational Services Business to assist Heads of Art with Curriculum and preparation for OFSTED Inspections. He established an LEA Centre for Art & Design running courses for Heads of Art before moving to work on cruises. Mike’s courses on ships are for all levels of experience…..he is “The Man Who Paints & Draws The World”

I am 69 and have been playing bridge for years. I was born and brought up in the Outer Hebrides and I maintain a strong connection to the islands. My career as a nurse was extremely enjoyable and successful and I continue to have a great deal of contact with colleagues and friends. Although my main interest is bridge I also enjoy sailing especially the west coast of Scotland and other hobbies include hill walking and travelling.

Ocean Conservationists will be showcasing the incredible diversity of wildlife that can be spotted from the deck, helping everyone learn more about the marine environment around them whilst collecting vital data about whales, dolphins and porpoises to contribute to their protection. “An enjoyable British Cruise”

We both enjoy Ambassador Cruises. They have a definate British feel about them. Going from Tilbury makes our journey relatively easy. The booking in is very straight forward. A porter was ready to take our suitcases. It allowed us to concentrate on the paperwork which was very straightforward. The food is excellent with plenty of choice. The entertainment and talks are informative and enjoyable. We booked a second cruise in the summer, perhaps a little too early as we did not the free parking on offer now. Annoying.
