This is an exciting and educational experience to the authentic Kalinago Caribbean village of Touna Aute. The village is located on the North Eastern side of the island and is bounded by the stunning Pagua River. Touna Aute is surrounded by spectacular mountain gorges, and is home to some of the island’s rare fauna and flora.

On your arrival to the village, you will be welcomed by one of the community who will provide a brief historical overview of the indigenous Kalinago people and the village. During your visit, you may learn about herbal medicine, basket making, traditional foods or the making of cassava bread. You will also have the opportunity to purchase handcrafted souvenirs.

Weather permitting, and only if the village Chief decides it is appropriate to do so, you will have the opportunity to take a dip in the crystal-clear river pools whilst listening to the sounds of cascading water and the chirping of birds.

Before you leave for your return journey to Roseau, you will enjoy some homemade delicacies and a drink.
