Ukelele Tutor

We come from a musical background and began playing the Ukulele together as a hobby around 11 years ago. Our Ukulele journey began on a cruise to Hawaii and it was there we fell in love with the instrument. Over the past 11 years we have been involved in many play along groups, performed in Ukulele Bands, and hosted play along sessions. With careers in teaching, presenting and managing theatrical events, covering all ages and group sizes, we are now enjoying passing on our knowledge and passion to others.

Colin Charles

Guest Act - Soul & Motown

Colin was trained at the Ballet Rambert School in Twickenham. His first West End musical was Cats, in which he performed the roles of Coricopat and Mr Mistofolees. As a soloist singer/dancer he has performed with Wayne Sleep and his company on tour and at London's Dominion Theatre. Other West end credits include King at the Piccadilly Theatre and Children of Eden at the Prince Edward Theatre. He played the principal role of Four-Eyed Moe in Five Guys Named Moe at the Lyric Theatre; London Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opposite Jason Donavon and Philip Schofield at the London Palladium; The role of T Bone and understudy to the part of Joe in Carmen Jones - The Musical; The principal role of John in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The role of Steven in Seeing the Light at the Roundhouse, Camden. The role of Tyrone in the production of Fame touring Scotland. Colin has played the principle role of Britney in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, JT in the touring production of Oh What A Night. The principal role of Tito Suarez in Dirty Dancing at the Dominion Theatre, London Colin has also been a Production Singer for Costa Cruises and Celebrity Cruises as well cast, staged and choreographed on a production for Celebrity Cruises.

Tom Powell

Keith Hanson

Guest Speaker - Entertainment

Keith is a former soldier of 30 years, In 1997 he became a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) at the. Tower of London. Three years later was promoted to become the Chief Exhibitor of the Tower, with prime responsibility for the security and presentation of the Crown Jewels, a position he held for 17 years. In 2004 he became a member of the Queen's Bodyguard of the Yeoman of the Guard a position he held until retirement, in 2020. Keith has extensive experience in the art of illustrated presentations, and has achieved notable recommendations from WI's, U3a's and various Cruise Ship Companies. In the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours List, Keith was awarded the Royal Victoria Medal for his service to the Tower of London and the Queen's Bodyguard of the Yeoman of the Guard. Keith is now retired and lives in Lincolnshire.

Max Howard

Guest Speaker - Conversationist

Max Howard is an award-winning animation producer and industry leader with a distinguished career spanning Disney, Warner Bros, and DreamWorks. He has worked on some of the most iconic animated films of all time, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Iron Giant, and Space Jam. As a producer and executive, he has helped shape internationally successful projects such as Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, 100% Wolf, and Saving Santa, and continues to develop new work including Drew’s World. Beyond production, Max is a respected educator and consultant, working with universities and institutions worldwide to develop animation talent and curricula, including roles in China, Hong Kong, and the UK. He is a member of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and BAFTA, and holds an honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Teesside University in recognition of his contribution to the animation industry.

Jo Pickering

Watercolour Tutor

Jo began painting in her early teens and has enjoyed more than thirty years teaching art to both adults and secondary school students. She specialise in both watercolour painting particularly portraits and oil painting. Jo writes articles for the Artist magazine and has sold and exhibited her work widely, including the Mall galleries in London and the Biscuit factory in Newcastle. Jo has appeared twice on Sky Arts landscape artist of the year in 2019 and 2021 as a wildcard artist and reserve pod artist. Jo now specialises in portrait painting and teach various arts societies and clubs.

Pearl Murphy

Bridge Tutor

Denis and Pearl Murphy : We are a married couple both approaching 70 We have both retired from professional careers in management and people development. We have been playing bridge for over 40 years and have has some successes during that time, most notably winning the English Mixed Pairs championship! Denis is accredited as a bridge teacher and a bridge tournament director and, whilst not formally accredited, Pearl also teaches and coaches bridge to both beginners and improvers. We are both keen to ensure that our guests enjoy their experiences as well as coming away with a sound basis of bridge knowledge and an enthusiasm for the game. We are both gregarious and social people able to mingle with guests and other cruise staff.

Paul Twose

Guest Speaker - Aviation

A retired Airline Captain, Paul speaks on a wide variety of fascinating subjects including Aviation, Weather Phenomena, Maritime and Earth Sciences, Space, Optical Illusions, Hoaxes, Famous Mysteries and Explorers. With over 50 years’ experience in private and commercial aviation, he has flown a wide range of aircraft from gliders and gyroplanes to Boeing 747 ‘Jumbo Jets’. He also served as a Squadron Leader with the RAF Air Cadets. Drawing from his varied aviation background and his 35 years’ experience in cadet training Paul is able to explain complex ideas in a way that is compelling and interesting.

Peter Walmsley

Guest Speaker - travel photography

Peter is an award-winning amateur travel photographer, best known for winning the 2020 Travel Photographer of the Year ‘Colours of Life’ category, selected from over 25,000 entries across 147 countries. He served as a trustee of the Royal Photographic Society from 2021 to 2023 and continues to judge competitions and deliver talks across southern England. In 2019, he achieved the Excellence distinction from the International Federation of Photographic Art, submitting 69 works to competitions in 26 countries and earning multiple medals. Peter travels extensively, particularly in South Asia, having lived in Delhi and explored over 40 locations across India, alongside visits to countries including Nepal, Bhutan, and Japan. His talks combine striking imagery with cultural insight and practical techniques, an approach reflected in his published book A Picture of India.

Davey Mcauley

A show like no other, escape artist, pickpocket, comedian, sleight of hand and all round amazement, his insatiable appetite to amaze delight has brought him around the world performing for carnivals, circuses, celebrities and was a headline act at the world famous, “Ripley’s believe it or not” in Times Square New York! Watch as volunteers are fooled right in front of their face, be a part of this live experience where Davey reads the minds of every audience member in the room, floats objects in mid air and performs escapes that would make Houdini himself smile. So be prepared for laughter, freaky moments and amazement as you sit back and enjoy an evening that is guaranteed to be remembered for years to come.

Andy Eastwood

Guest Act - Comedy Instrumentalist

With ukulele, banjo-uke, violin, guitar and piano, Andy Eastwood’s act is an upbeat blend of dazzling instrumental artistry, foot-tapping songs and bright, breezy humour. Born in Lancashire to a musical family, Andy began performing at an early age, studying classical violin and piano. But he also developed a passion for jazz and popular music, and having taught himself ukulele he made history at Oxford University as the only musician ever to give his degree recital on the instrument! He is now considered one of the world’s foremost ukulele players and is proud to have contributed to its continuing popularity. The legendary Sir Ken Dodd gave Andy his break into theatre, and he made over 300 performances as special guest with the great comedian - who described him as ‘a one-man music festival’ - as well as working alongside stars such as Cannon & Ball, Joe Pasquale, Frank Skinner, Des O’Connor and Roy Hudd. Andy’s one-man show is a popular attraction for cruise liners and corporate functions, and his tour schedule of major theatres and cabaret venues worldwide prompted The Stage to call him ‘the busiest man in showbusiness’. Audiences too have taken him to their hearts: two award-winning summer seasons in Blackpool have earned him the title of the resort’s ‘Top Solo Artist’. For several years Andy portrayed ukulele legend George Formby in the touring show We’ll Meet Again (over 1000 performances), and recently his festival appearances have taken him to Italy, Germany, The Czech Republic, Finland and Oklahoma City, USA. Recently Andy has starred in his own production Those Were The Days at theatres around Britain, and in traditional pantomime each winter. He also produces the popular Midday Variety series at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Don’t miss your chance to see this unique entertainer in action!

Couldn't book online as it wasn't working saying every cabin we tried to book that it wasn't available, tried for an hour with no luck. In the end we had to get a friend in the UK to phone and book us in. She got through straight away but all the inside cabins were gone and we ended up buying a sea view cabin, costing us around 400 pound each more. We later found out your webpage wasn't working correctly which is very disappointing
