Treasure Valley Scenic Drive & Snorkel

Discover the unrivalled serenity of the Roseau Valley and experience Dominica’s volcanic origins during this scenic drive in an open safari bus.

You will start by visiting the historical Morne Bruce located 122m (400ft) above Roseau, from where you can enjoy commanding views over the capital from the site of this former garrison.

A short drive from here is the Botanic Gardens. Established in 1890, this 40-acre oasis is the largest area of green space within the city of Roseau. Many trees and plants remain even though the infamous Hurricane Maria uprooted a lot of it.

Your journey then continues to the Trafalgar Falls, named after the Battle of Trafalgar and known for the majestic twin waterfalls. You will view the falls, one of Dominica’s most beautiful attractions, from a viewpoint in the village, taking the opportunity to capture photos of this stunning sight.

Returning to Roseau, you then follow the coastal road south to Champagne Beach. Upon arrival you will be provided with your snorkelling equipment and given a safety briefing and orientation about the adventure that awaits you on the reef. Champagne Reef, located in the Soufriere/Scotts Head Marine Reserve, is Dominica’s premier diving and snorkelling site. Underwater geothermal springs vent gasses in the form of thousands of warm bubbles giving you a feeling of swimming through a giant glass of Champagne. Expect to see a myriad of sea life such as sponges, lobster, parrot fish and a resident population of Hawksbill turtles and green turtles.

You will then rejoin your bus for the return journey to the pier.
