This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some of the highlights of Lisbon, predominantly from the comfort of a coach.

Departing from the pier, your guide will inform you about the picturesque Alfama district close to the ship’s berth.

From here, your journey takes you downtown, as you discover a busy and lively area which was entirely rebuilt following a disastrous earthquake that destroyed the city in 1755. You will drive along Liberty Avenue to the top of King Edward VII Park, continuing across Spanish Square and under the spectacular aqueduct built in the 18th century to supply the city with water. You will soon enter the Belém District where, in the 15th and 16th centuries, explorers and their caravels set sail for the great ‘voyages of discovery’. This was the beginning of Portugal’s golden age.

A photo stop will be made outside the Jeronimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Rejoining your coach, your return drive will take you past the Belém Tower and the Memorial to the Discoveries.
