Departing the pier in your Tuk-Tuk, you will first enjoy a drive towards the Belém District. In this monumental section of Lisbon is where you can admire the Monument of the Discoveries, the Tower of Belém and Jeronimos Monastery.

You continue to downtown Lisbon, passing along the lovely Liberty Avenue, Restauradores Square, Chiado District, the busy Rossio and Comércio Squares and the Alfama district.

Alfama is an example of a typical Portuguese neighbourhood, and its name comes from Arabic meaning fountains or baths. The area contains many important historical attractions, with many Fado (traditional music) bars and restaurants. Overlooking Alfama is the medieval Castle of São Jorge – the official royal residence until the early 16th century which now offers the best views of the city. Within the slopes of Alfama are other terraces, or belvederes, from which you can admire the city.

Time and traffic permitting, there may be some free time given in the Chiado district for a little shopping.
