Falmouth and Montego Bay @ Ease
Montego Bay

by coach/coaster bus & on foot
During this experience, you will be introduced to two of Jamaica’s most vibrant towns – Montego Bay and Falmouth. You will learn about the island’s history and culture, and get a taste of the island’s natural bounty.
Departing from the port, your drive will take you through Montego Bay and up to Grand A View to enjoy a taste of refreshing coconut water served straight from the source, and savour the soft, delicate coconut meat before continuing with your journey.
Your next stop will be to enjoy some free time at Main Street Rose Hall, with its collection of shops offering a blend of local charm, high-end fashion, and cultural treasures. Here you will find souvenirs, fine jewellery and a taste of authentic artistry. Take a stroll to the craft market where local artisans display their hand-crafted wares.
Rejoining your bus, your journey continues towards the historic town of Falmouth. En route, you will pass Rose Hall Great House in the distance: an outstanding relic of colonial times with a fascinating and detailed history of dark rumour and intrigue.
You will soon arrive at Falmouth, a key part of the fabric of Jamaica’s heyday as a British colony. You will discover the little-known history of this old town and find out what made it a rich and significant port in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In particular, you will learn how Falmouth obtained running water before New York City and how the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning of Greenwood Great House was connected to the town. Along the way, you will view Georgian architecture that was adapted to local conditions to create a unique island style which is still remarkably preserved.
You will then return to Montego Bay where you will see the Hip Strip, a popular destination for shopping and entertainment. You then make your way to the centrepiece of downtown Montego Bay. Here you will drive through Sam Sharpe Square, with its Georgian buildings side-by-side with modern structures as well as monuments commemorating the history of the square, before returning to the port.
