Discover the Island of Terceira

Terceira was the third island in the Azores to be discovered, hence its name, which means third in Portuguese. Discover some of the island’s highlights during this full day experience.

Departing from the port, your journey will take you towards the Serra do Cume viewpoint for a photo stop to enjoy views overlooking Praia da Vitória and the island’s interior. You will then continue to Biscoitos, located on the north coast, where you will stop to admire the natural swimming pools and visit a wine museum where you can learn about the island’s traditional wine production and sample the Biscoitos wine.

Your island exploration continues with a photo stop on Monte Brasil, from where you will enjoy views overlooking the island’s capital, Angra do Heroismo. Descend into the city and take to your feet as you join your guide on an approximately one-hour walking tour through the city centre.

Pause for lunch at a hotel, including a glass of wine or a soft drink, before rejoining your coach for the return drive to Praia da Vitória which will take you through some of the island’s southern villages such as Ribeirinha and São Sebastião. If time permits, a short photo stop will be made.
