Easy to book a cruise.

I went on line to the Ambassador cruise site to see what cruises they had. I found one that just fitted where I wanted to go. It was really easy to book on line and I'm not all that good on computers. It was all laid out really well so that you new exactly what the next bit would be.

Too soon for insurance

I booked a future cruise , because friends keep cruising with you and raving about them. Mine is booked for July 2027, a retirement treat. However, I am worried the insurance link that comes with the booking paperwork will not create an account. On calling Ambassador say holiday extras are nothing to do with them. Roll on trying o get insurance through other companies it isn’t possible. Apparently, it’s too far in the future, so I’ve paid £500 deposit and have to hope nothing goes wrong in the next couple of months, until insurance can be purchased. Given you should always purchase insurance straight away this is a bit of a worry. Not sure you should have them on sale, if they can’t be insured yet!!?!!

Easy booking and convenient ports

Easy online booking. Able to travel to convenient ports. Great itinerary. Chose latest cruise because it offered ports we’d not been to with other cruise lines.

A little disappointed

Usually I would give Ambassador five stars but on my last cruise it was to celebrate my sisters 70th birthday...and her first cruise. I asked the waiters in the Buckingham restaurant if they would surprise her by singing Happy birthday as has happened previously on other occasions with no problem. The waiters had to ask for permission to sing from the head chef or person in charge of the kitchen. They asked if I had ordered a cake.. I said no..never had to before. He said a resounding NO!! The waiters were so apologetic and embarrassed. We were so disappointed and couldn't understand why not. No explanation given. Ambassador..get your act together and sort that head chef out for his appalling attitude! Not very customer friendly to say the least. I thought Ambassador were all about having fun. Singing happy birthday was the norn previously..seems there is a kill joy on board!

Shining Customer Service

Booking online was very straightforward but just after making the booking we were made aware of a wedding that clashed with the cruise dates. When I called Ambassador to explain and make a change, I was very pressed with the help and service, Rebecca, at the customer service centre provided in completely handling everything to cancel my existing booking and book the alternative I had selected. Following the telephone call - a few minutes - I received confirmation of our entire changes. If we have made changes with other cruise lines, they could well learn a few good pointers from Ambassador.

Read to departure date properly

Actually I was not paying too much attention and booked what looks a wonderful cruise itinerary thinking I was booking for May 2026. Rather disappointed when I spotted it was in fact for May 2027. Now that the disappointment has sunk in I am really looking forward to the cruise. We have done lots of cruises, Ambassador was recomendend by a relative and it will be our first cruise from our home town.
