Guest Act - Comedian

Lloyd Davies began his career as one half of the very successful comedy duo’s Rosser and Davies winning the Grand Final of Opportunity Knocks at the London Palladium.  After receiving the most votes ever cast for an act (93,0030) Lloyd has enjoyed a truly diverse and international career. He has toured America three times and performed his one man stand-up show throughout Europe and Asia. Lloyd has also supported the late Gene Pitney on a UK national theatre tour receiving critical acclaim from the press. He is in constant demand as an after-dinner speaker and comedian and works extensively in the cruise industry travelling the world. Television credits include The Michael Barrymore show , 3-2-1, Summertime Special, The Funny Side, It’s Wicked, Going live and was also a regular daytime TV performing topical comedy songs which he writes himself. Not only a performer, but also a wonderful comedy writer, having written and performed alongside the great Bob Monkhouse, Sir Ken Dodd, Jasper Carrott, Russ Abbot to name a few. A talented pianist and singer, Lloyd incorporates topical and self-penned witty songs into his act. Lloyd is original, topical, clever and, above all, unpredictable!

Brendan Lally

As the son of a Sheffield steelworker living in a council house and having just a grammar school education, Brendan went on to achieve a good status in life through working hard and having motivational objectives. His worldwide travel both socially and professionally has enabled him to obtain a good knowledge of people and places both culturally and historically as evidenced in his Destination Talks. Being more 'fact' than 'fiction’, Brendan enjoys biographies and the arts as well as a love of music with past involvement in amateur operatics and dramatics. This is reflected in his presentations on famous people, musicals and the classics. He achieved high rank in the police service and his varied career culminated in a three-year secondment to the Home Office, London as a Staff Officer to HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary. By complete contrast post-retirement, he ran a small West Country residential hotel with his wife and it was shortlisted for the award of "Best Small UK Hotel" Since 2015, Brendan has been the guest of different cruise lines speaking on a large variety of subjects rather than having a specific specialism. Not surprisingly this has resulted in selection for several lengthy 'at sea' cruises including World Cruise Sectors. Being of Irish descent, he is at home on British Isles and Ireland itineraries as well as his much-visited Norway, the West Indies and parts of South America. His talks are well received with excellent feedback and repeat bookings. Brendan lives on the outskirts of Sheffield, enjoys jogging, golf and sequence dancing.

Booking was easy and operator was knowledgeable and helpful. Disappointed that the website was showing a 10% discount code that did not work online. When operator asked it was stated that the promo code finished on the 12th even though we did not browse until 15th. We did not get the discount- very disappointing. Also we are repeat customers as we sailed the Norwegian fjords back in February with Ambassador but there is no loyalty program, rewards or discounts.

Tried to book cruise online, but the system froze at the "processing " stage. This was annoying, resulting in me having to ring Ambassador customer services. However, Karen was excellent on the phone call, resolved the issue quickly and completed my booking successfully.

“A lovely relaxing holiday with lovely people.”

Excellent service from dedicated staff. The ship was really comfortable and warm while the temperature outside was just above zero. Excellent food and service in the Buckingham Restaurant which was followed by the excellent shows in the Palladium Theatre which was followed by excellent entertainment in the Observatory Lounge. The Spa offered all sorts of relaxing treatments to be enjoyed on sea days. I have already booked my next cruise in April.

So far, so good. Booking was really easy and we were attracted by the free drink package offer so the cruise worked out at a good deal. Also, it’s sailing to a few ports that we haven’t visited before despite being seasoned cruisers. Booking was really easy and the agent was very helpful, and when she heard that we had been recommended to try Ambassador by a friend who had cruised with them earlier this year, she pointed us to their ‘refer a friend’ programme. Unfortunately, when he tried to do this it was rejected as he didn’t have a cruise currently booked which wasn’t how it was explained to us. Never mind! We look forward to our first Ambassador cruise in May.
